Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Windows Server Certification Preparation

Overview

This program is designed to prepare students to write the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Windows Server 2012 certification exams. The MCSA Windows Server 2012 certification demonstrates knowledge and skills in working with Windows Server 2012. The certification validates ability to handle day-to-day management of the server operating system, file structure, and directory services; handle software distribution and updates; monitor servers; provide tier-2 troubleshooting support; support engineering and change-management projects; build and configure servers; implement auditing policy; perform scheduled vulnerability-assessment scans; and monitor logs for firewalls and intrusion-detection systems.

The MCSA certification builds on a combination of prerequisites exams that will allow students to develop their technical skills and knowledge and prepare them for the role as a Server Administrator.

Requirements for MCSA Windows Server 2012 Certification

MCSA Windows Server 2012 candidates are required to pass three exams: 70-410, 70-411, and 70-412 exams.

Program Notes

Students must pass all courses and achieve a 75% program average to earn a certificate. All current Microsoft certification exams are computer-based tests administered through independent testing agency Prometric.

Admission Requirements

A British Columbia Secondary School Diploma or equivalent with prior education in English at grade 10 level or higher.

OR

Mature students who pass an entrance evaluation demonstrating sufficient ability (i.e., English comprehension and math skills) to undertake the program.

All applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the above requirements or through an English language assessment (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent).

Program Prerequisites

A candidate should hold CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification or have adequate experience working with a desktop operating system, a network operating system, and an existing network infrastructure.

Upon completion of the program the participant must demonstrate the following core competencies:

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Installing and Configuring (SSMS410R2)
This course prepares the student to write the exam 70- 410 – Installing and Configuring windows Server 2012. Passing this exam counts as credit towards the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows Server 2012 certification.

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Administering (SSMS411R2) 
This course prepares the student to write the exam 70- 411 – Administering Windows Server 2012. Passing this exam counts as credit towards the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows Server 2012 certification.

Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Configuring Advanced Services (SSMS412R2) 
This course prepares the student to write the exam 70- 412 – Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services. Passing the prerequisite exams and this exam completes the requirements for the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows Server 2012 certification.
